Permit me, first of all, to express my gratitude to the organizers, for the invitation to give the keynote address to this august gathering. I feel really honoured. And I am particularly happy to be here, as a personal act of fulfillment, since I have been similarly invited by the Association on other occasions in the past, without my being able to honour the invitation.
