Karl Omar Lawrence

Karl Omar Lawrence is a first generation Bronxite, whose family emigrated from St. Thomas in East Jamaica to New York in the late 1980â€™s at the height of the crack epidemic and war on drugs that ravished the black community. Growing up, he began exploring his creative side through poetry and that enabled him to express himself through the music of language, sounds, and images. His poems are tools for transcending and transforming his reality; they inspire him to become an agent of change, to speak the truth, and be a person of integrity.
