Abstract

Connie Field's 2006 documentary Salud is propaganda. It is an unabashed, full throated, unashamed celebration of the stated principles of public health care established by the socialist government in Cuba. The fact that the multitudes of talking heads range from internationally recognized human rights activists (ex. Former US President James Carter) to rural workers devastated by natural disaster, only adds to the sense that Salud! assembled a congregation of believers and believes itself to be a vehicle of a gospel like truth.
