							Dimensions of African Motherhood
Abstract
The article provides a filter through which a deeper understanding into the phenomenon of motherhood in Africa can be accessed. Three inter-related dimensions of motherhood are highlighted: biological, social/economic and the spiritual. Taken separately and together these dimensions of motherhood give women immense power, which is at times overt and at times latent.
