Presidential Message

Abstract

I have today chosen to write this statement of support for the maiden edition of the African Journal of Criminology and Justice Studies (AJCJS). I am writing, not just as the President of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES), but also as an academic who believes in the great ideals of scholarly research. This publication marks a new dawn in the annals of an unrelenting march toward research and academic excellence by this great institution. I also wish to use this same medium to congratulate the African Criminology and Justice Association (ACJA) for relocating its secretariat to the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, and for conceiving this lofty idea of starting its first ever peer-reviewed journal.
