Dispatch to the Chief, Africa Division, Central Intelligence Agency, July 31, 1970
Abstract
July 31, 1970
The dispatch provided a number of comments on postwar Nigeria relevant to the preparation of National Intelligence Estimate 64.2-70 (National Intelligence Estimate, Washington, November 2, 1970). It was noted, for example, that reintegration of the Ibos into national life had gone much better than could have been expected. The military government had indicated that future U.S.-Nigerian relations would largely depend upon U.S. provision of military training and equipment.
